The garden outside of the museum includes plants of cultural significance like native rushes, grasses, flowering plants, trees and shrubs important for basketry and food. The Campus Biodiversity Initiative has helped with weeding this garden and hopes to continue stewarding and helping with an expansion of this space in the future with an emphasis on increasing the number and diversity of basketry plants represented.
